Fiona decided she wanted to work in the Pediatric Disability sector after her eldest son was diagnosed with a genetic condition at just 8 months. Her son has come so far and would not be where he is today without his team of Therapists including OT, Keyworker, Speech and Psychology. Fiona wants the same for children who need extra support so they can thrive in everyday life, just like her son.
Fiona has a background in working with children as a support worker/coach with preschool-aged and primary school-aged children. Fiona enjoys helping children of all abilities develop the skills they need for daily life through fun play-based activities. She strives to make her sessions fun and engaging, tailoring them to suit the child’s interests to create positive outcomes for her clients and their families.
Outside of work, Fiona is a mum to two young boys. Her family are animal lovers and are lucky enough to have a dog named Wally, chickens and fish. In her spare time, Fiona loves spending time with her family, including camping, going on outdoor adventures, watching her children play sports, and relaxing by the fire.
