Team Leader/Speech Pathologist

Robyn has been a passionate Speech Pathologist for over 40 years. For the last 27 years Robyn was the Director of her own multi-discipline Allied Health practice and also consulted at Melbourne Paediatric Specialists at the Royal Children’s Hospital. During this time, she mentored and supervised many wonderful Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists and Allied Health Assistants.

In the six-year period from 2011 to 2017 Robyn had two terms as Vice President of Speech Pathology Australia and has continued to work passionately to advocate for the profession, clients and families in government inquiries and on committees and working groups. Robyn is currently an Allied Health representative on the Medicare Review Advisory Committee Allied Health Working Group.

Robyn’s clinical experience is diverse. She commenced her career in adult neurological rehabilitation and then moved to focus on children both in educational and clinical settings. Together with a paediatrician and psychologist Robyn set up one of the first multi-discipline developmental and autism assessment teams.

Robyn has provided trainings and presentations for many organizations including Speech Pathology Australia and the Autism CRC.

Robyn is dedicated to supporting children with Speech Sound Disorders including Childhood Apraxia of Speech, Language and Social – Emotional communication development.

In addition to her clinical role, Robyn enjoys supervising and mentoring other Speech Pathologists and feels fortunate to be able to continue doing this as a Speech Pathology Team Leader at Peninsula Plus 4 days a week.

Outside of work Robyn loves to hike, sing and tries to keep up with her grandchildren.
